Body scrubs – my winner!

scrub

Perhaps it will sound strange but I’ve actually never tried a body scrub before. Sometimes I used a face peeling for the whole body instead, but never a scrub. But you see, I have that habit that whenever my company introduces a new product, I have to test it first on my own skin, before I start recommending it to others. And that’s how I got to use a body scrub for the first time πŸ˜€

At the same time, coincidentally, I got a different scrub as a gift from my friend so I was testing both more or less at the same time. Also Colway International had one in their offer, so in the end I was testing THREE!!! πŸ˜€ One after another. All of them are rich inΒ  very beneficial high quality oils and the skin felt amazing after application. What I loved most in all of them, was the fact that I didn’t have to apply a body lotion after taking a shower and the skin was silky soft in touch but it wasn’t oily at the same time.

I’ve tested these products:

At first, the choice was really hard. As I mentioned earlier all of those scrubs gave similar effects, all of them worked great as skin peelers and I liked the feeling of my skin afterwards. So lets have a closer look at each of them.

Purite scrub comes in a large glass jar (250ml), which is a big advantage, although you better don’t drop it in your bath, so be careful, it’s quite heavy. But I love the list of ingredients:

large_scrub-limon-sklep

  • Dead Sea salt
  • Sea Salt
  • Grape Seed Oil
  • Olive Oil
  • Shea Butter
  • Cocoa Butter
  • Avocado Oil
  • Green French clay
  • Lime Oil
  • Vitamin E
  • Mica

The smell is also gorgeous, very refreshing and pleasant. I loved it! Also you can choose among 4 different types of body scrubs from their shop, and I’m sure each one will give you a different but equally pleasurable sensation. Cost: €18.00 (250ml).

Colway International has recently improved their Body Scrub formula. It comes in a flat plastic jar (200ml). The list of active ingredients is a bit different here (instead of salt as a peeling ingredient, we have sugar!):

CI_bodyscrub

  • Sweet Almond Oil
  • Sunflower Oil
  • Avocado Oil
  • Shea Butter
  • Mango Butter
  • Extract of Bladderwrack
  • Sugar Cane

And as you can expect, the smell of this scrub is quite sweet. I can’t really get that smell although it says it’s raspberry-mint… Hmm… I have to test it again, perhaps it’s the new formula and the sensation will be a bit different. This scrub felt a bit heavy to me. Perhaps it’s the impression that I’m rubbing sugar into my skin, I don’t know πŸ˜‰ but I also thought that, compared to the other two, this one seemed the “oiliest” of all. But the final sensation was also cool. There was no “wow” effect, but the scrub was doing its job perfectly. Cost: €42.95 (200ml) but you can get it 10% cheaper as a registered customer or 40% cheaper (so for €25.77) if you are a Partner of Colway International.

Colway Collagen Body Scrub is quite a new product by this company. And I think it is still rather underestimated. When I first tested it I was absolutely blown away! But slowly… So it comes in a very simple plastic jar (250ml) and the list of active ingredients looks like that:

scrub

  • Fukus Vesiculosus (brown algae)
  • Ivy
  • Guarana
  • Bitter Orange (Citrus aurantium)
  • Rosemary
  • Argan Oil
  • Sunflower Oil
  • Shea Butter (Karite)
  • Allantoin
  • Collagen
  • Vitamin E
  • Ground Cranberry Beans

What I love most in here? The smell and those cute little cranberry beans! But seriously, the smell is so captivating, that using this scrub is pure pleasure. I don’t know what kind of fragrance they added to this product, but can honestly say that I’m totally addicted. I can’t even describe it. It’s one of those products that you have to try for yourself to understand what I’m talking about. It’s a real experience! The skin afterwards is soft and moisturised, and it gets that fab silky gloss when you pat dry it with a towel. Besides it lasts! πŸ˜€ Cost: €35.00 (200ml) or 20% cheaper if you are a registered customer, or 42% cheaper (so €20.30) if you are a Manager of Colway.

Now, if I were to give an objective opinion… I know how it sounds… I’ve been with Colway for the past 5 years!… But seriously, I’m past that phase when you are trying to sell something no matter what (actually when I think about it, I’ve never had that phase… hmm… ) Well, so, believe it or not, but this IS an objective opinion. The winner to me is the Colway Collagen Body Scrub. Why? Because it gave me that “WOW” sensation and I loved my skin most after using this product. And also, because I’ve had a rather long break since I last used any of those scrubs, and I was thinking about it recently, and guess which one came to my mind first? Yep! Exactly. So the choice is obvious.

  1. Colway Collagen Body Scrub
  2. Purite Salt Lime Peel Scrub
  3. Colway International Body Scrub

Now, whether you base your choice on price, or ingredients, or the sensation the use of the product gives you, you can decide by yourself. All three will work great on your skin, leaving it silky soft in touch, perfectly moisturised and enriched with beneficial plant ingredients and vitamins. And you can forget about the body lotion afterwards. You don’t have to worry that your clothes will get oily (I had that fear myself before the first use), they won’t. And I ensure you, once you try an oil-based body scrub, you won’t want anything else!

Collagen rescue for extremely dry hands

As always when it’s cold outside or when I expose my hands to chemicals (eg. washing my hands too often), my skin gets extremely dry after a while. I use a hand cream every day but I’ve noticed that it works only temporarily. I’ve decided then to use Natural Collagen as I remember how it helped me before and it kept the skin on my hands in a perfect condition for as long as I was using it (or actually even for a few months longer when I already stopped using it).

Collagen and elastin are responsible for maintaining proper hydration of our skin. Collagen is also responsible for the healing processes – when you cut or scald your skin, it’s thanks to collagen that it heals itself. Knowing that it would seem only logical that Natural Collagen should be a great ally in fighting dry and damaged skin.

So here’s what I did:

1. I washed my hands with a mild soap (not containing zinc which is not compatible with fish collagen, nor SLS which is a strong irritant) I used Collagen Wash Gel which I also use as a face wash and make-up remover.

2. I used a gentle Scrub with collagen (Don’t do it everyday! 1-2 times a week is just enough)

3. I left my hands wet.

4. I applied 2 pumps of Natural Collagen Platinum and gently massaged it into my skin. For hands any type of Natural Collagen would be great: Platinum, Silver or Graphite. I used Platinum because I had it open as I use it regularly for my face.

5. I left it on till it got absorbed by the skin.

6. I applied my hand cream. (I use Elave hand cream)

Effect: silky soft skin in touch, dryness gone, hands feel amazingly delicate and perfectly moisturised.

I would recommend this treatment to be repeated at least twice every day for a few days and then you can do it less often, but try to do it regularly to maintain these outstanding effects!

*The pictures below show the results after only one treatment / one application of Natural Collagen Platinum onto my palms. They are true, have not been modified and have all been taken today.

This is the condition of my hands I woke up with this morning (even though I always use a hand cream for the night and during the day too – and the cream I’ve chosen is one of the best I’ve ever had!):Dry Hands
